Sanur, Bali

Sanur is a multitude of contrasts, known for its sea-side resorts and the beautiful Sanur beaches. On the Eastern coastline, sheltered by the coral reef, the waves here are gentler than in other areas of Bali. As in the past, fishermen still wander the beach and the colourful outrigger canoes can be hired for sailing trips along the coast and to outlying islands. In the last two decades the once sleepy village of Sanur has become an elite international hotel resort, with huge hotel complexes offering first class accommodation and every modern facility to visiting tourists.
