Saving the Wildlife through Conservation

Bali Safari and Marine Park lies on three villages namely; Gianyar village, Lebih Village and Serongga Village belong to Sukawati district, Gianyar regency. Exactly, it is in Jl. Prof. Dr. I.B Mantra, Gianyar, Bali. Nestled within the rich Balinese culture and breathtaking natural surroundings, the park is conveniently located just 17 kilometers from capital city of Denpasar. It offers one of the most Bali’s most fascinating and professional attractions to enjoy the unique experience of the zoo to get close into the wildlife of more than 400 animals representing 80 different species including some of rare and endangered species from Indonesia and also from all over the world. The park was set on 40 hectares of land with breathtaking natural surroundings at the cultural centre of Bali. This park is mainly intended in assisting the protection and conservation of endangered species that are constantly losing their natural habitat. It is also used for helping scientists in conducting research on many different wild animals’ conservation programs. In addition, Bali Safari & Marine Park runs conservation and education campaigns and other extension activities for saving the wildlife from extinction.

 

This is home for thousand of rare animals combined with Bali lush vegetation and cultural ambiance features with African Savannah, Sumatran elephant, Sumatran tiger, white tiger, leopard, komodo dragon and cheetah are just some of the fascinating creatures that can be seen at the Bali Safari and Marine Park. The visitors can get close up to the animals and there is also animals show, cultural show, fun zone and restaurant, souvenir and gift shop reminiscent of a traditional market.

 

 

The park can be easily reached by H.I.S charter car or join optional tour about 45 minutes from the city center of Denpasar and one hour from Kuta, Seminyak or Legian tourism area. The park presents very unique modes in natural condition with the combination between free wildlife like in their natural habitat in one ecosystem with the touch of Balinese culture sense.

 

 

 

 

Exciting Program in Bali Safari and Marine Park

Safari Park

Safari Journey offers a unique safari adventure to explore the life of hundreds of animals of more than 80 species. Journey will lead the visitors into the nature and see our wild animals roaming around the jungle and savanna.

At the first of your departure, the visitors can go to the main terminal to join the safari bus meanwhile the visitors can visit the Barong Lobby to get further information about Bali Safari and Marine Park. The visitors get a map of safari parks, and watching a variety of freshwater fish collections from various countries. The trip continues to get on the safari bus that will take you round the safari park. The journey will begin by passing the vast grasslands, where deer, antelope, zebras and rhinos roam. Then, watch various species of monkeys; pass through the swamp area to see various types of hippos, water birds and crocodiles, trip move to African villages, where you see the variety of African wildlife. This is the great place to see endangered animals about 80 species, including endangered animals as the largest wildlife park in Bali.

In addition, to fulfill your curiosity about the life of various animals, you can also follow or join various other fun activities, such as a pony ride (especially for children), camel, or elephant. You also can view wildlife and savannah habitat drum performances (special holidays) on the stage of Hanuman. The visitors also can see elephant activity in Kampung Gajah. Take pictures with a baby orang-utans, snake or lion and some of beautiful birds.

 

 

 

This is a sanctuary for retired forestry and other working elephants. Here, visitors can observe the wonderful care of the elephant and get riding on them. The trip takes about 15 minutes and s the visitors through dark rainforest canyons and across deep pools of water.

Komodo Dragon (Varanus komodoensis) is the biggest lizard on earth and exists only on Komodo Island National Park, Nusa Tenggara Timur (East Nusa Tenggara). This animal is Indonesian Endemic animal and also included in new of world’s seven wonders categories. . This giant lizard also could be found here.

 

 

 

The others animal is Leopards, they are very good climbers and unlike most cats who climb down hindquarters first. They are good swimmers but will not lie in the water like a tiger. Here, also place of Curik Bali or Bali bird starling conservation, which will be released in Bali Barat National Park.

 

 

Camel riding is will send you as you were on Sahara in short trip. The visitors also can watch animal show.  Some of them are intelligent animals that can be friend with human being like Elephant, Orang Utan, Cockatoo and Poodles until predator animals like Eagles. Orangutan is one of large primata species in Kalimantan (Pongo pygmaeus pygmaeus) dan Sumatra (Pongo pygmaeus abelli). Orangutans spend most of their times on the trees. Their basic food is fruit, green young leaves until bird eggs. Here in Bali Safari & Marine Park we will see the intelligence of trained Orangutans and birds. Fun Zone Activities

The park completed with Fun Zone area where both adults and children can have fun while extend excitement with fantastic amusement for all ages. For fun zone facilities, there are water park and many amusement rides such as the merry go round, jungle cruise, driving bumper cars, climbing car, flume ride, and riding a mini-coaster and many more options.

Water Park

Clear water will refresh you mind. There are some pools that can be used for children and adults and some water slides, it is really exciting. You can play and swim in the non-stop streaming water pool. Water park is also facilitated with pool café, which is ready to serve you. The visitors can enjoy for snack and drink while have fun in the water park.

 

 

 

 

Climbing Car and Merry Go Round

This facility is specialized for children between the ages of 3 to 10 years old and not allowed for adults without any exception. Merry go ground can be enjoyed by the visitors of all ages. It is commonly famous as Carousel. You can enjoy this amusement ride by choosing ne of the seat on the horse or cart freely.

 

 

Go Go Bouncer and Jungle Cruise

This amusement is ride on an octopus with 12 tentacles, which all of them can move up and down in rhythm. You will feel like spinning and flying while moving up and down. This activity can be joined by the ages under 15 years old. Jungle cruise sails along the tame river while enjoying some animals in the forest along the way of the ride. The visitors will really be fun while enjoying calm nature accompanied with peaceful sound of water falling from the high cliff and some animals living in the wild. The best time to join Jungle cruise is in the morning or in the afternoon since some animals seem to have more activities.

Spinning Coaster and Flume Ride

It is fantastic amusement ride to enjoy. You will spin while gliding from the top to the bottom. When you are on the peak of the ride, do not forget to enjoy sea, mountain and river views. Sometimes, you can scream out loudly. Flume ride will make you little bit wet and you have be sure that you will enjoy a wonderful sensation after gliding from 10 meters of height sitting on the boat. Cultural Show

Bali Safari and Marne Park offers wide range varieties of cultural shows ensure that you get to feel the traditional lives of that Balinese Village. The visitors can learn the traditional dance or watch Barong Dance while listen to traditional skillful musicians demonstrating their unique musical instruments.

 

 

 

 

Lobby Barong and Rindik Traditional Music.

The rhythm of this bamboo music will welcome the visitors at Lobby Barong which played by a couple of Rindik players. As one of the traditional music in Bali, Rindik is commonly played for Joged Bumbung dance performances. The rhythms of this music make you relax although it also can be played in dynamic.

Hanoman Court

This the place for keeping the collection of statues of Rahwana and Hanoman, the god monkey from the story of Ramayana. It is also used as a home to exotic birds and Orangutan encounters. This mains stage for animal educational and entertainment shows.

 

 

 

 

Bali Dance Course and Barong Dance Performance

Bali Safari and Marine Park also indulgence the visitor for those who would like to learn about Balinese dance. This activity is free of charge.  Balinese dance everyday, starting at 9.00 am until 17.00 (5 pm) at Bale Banjar, Bali Market. If you feel nervous or a doubt to try, you can watch how the dancers practice a various Balinese dances. We highly recommend you to join the dancers to enjoy this special moment during your stay in Bali.

Barong dance performance is also presented every Sunday and National Holiday at Bale Banjar, Bali Market at 13.00 (1 pm). Like others Barong Dance performances, we present various Barong types, such as, Barong Ket, Barong Bangkung & Barong Macan. There is also Barong Ngelawang, in which the dancers go around while dancing in Bali Safari & Marine Park area accompanied with musical instrument.

Having meal in The Park

The visitors do not need to worry about how to have meal in the park at once. After joining some activities, the visitors can just try to have meal inside the park. There are two main restaurants in the area of Bali Safari and Marine Park. First is Uma Restaurant, serve for taste the Balinese heritage traditional recipe, international, Asian, and local specialties prepared freshly. It has seating capacity for 800 guests available with a village theme.  Another restaurant is Lion Restaurant or called Tsavo Lion restaurant. It is very different restaurant since the visitors can see the lions from inside the restaurant while having meal. Just enjoy world class cuisine recipes in a breathtaking ambiance of park.

The park is the balance combination between harmonizing the culture with nature and wildlife. Bali Safari and Marine Park open daily start from 09.00 am to 17.00 pm and for weekend and Holiday is from 08.30 am until 17.00 pm.  Due to park’s conservation efforts and to this end the park will invite and encourage visits from school students who eager learn much about the environment and conservation from the real things that they can see in the park. Some of breeding program will be implemented especially for those rare and endangered species. Bali Safari & Marine Park is extremely active in protecting endemic and endangered species, as well as maintains educational campaign to save the animals.
