Lovina Beach is one of the famous tourist destinations in north part of Bali with its beautiful of calm sea water, blackish chromatic sand and its dolphin attraction on the morning. Lovina Beach situated about 10 km to western part of Singaraja city. Precisely in Kalibukbuk Village ,Buleleng Sub District, Buleleng Regency which covers some countryside like Pemaron, Tukad Mungga, and Anturan. It takes around 3 hours drive from Denpasar through the main route of Denpasar-Bedugul-Singarja.

There are some of unique histories about how this place could be named Lovina Beach. One says that Lovina name was given by Indonesian’s first President Soekarno, which means "Love Indonesia". Regarding to the reference of the children from Anak Agung Panji Tisna, the writer and novelist from clan of famous Buleleng King that the name of Lovina is given by him as the name of Lovina is taken away from a name of small hotel in India that is Lafeina where he stayed and wrote the book with the title of Ni Ketut Widhi. Then, Lovina's name is interpreted as abbreviation from Love and Ina and it is interpreted as Love to Indonesia. It is true since the beach is really lovely beach to visit during your vacation.
The beach stretches around 8 Kilometers extend and characterized by its rural nature and its unique, dark colored sand of volcanic origin. It offers view of overlooking Java sea and quite peaceful place than the others beach in Bali. Here, the visitors can enjoy the natural atmosphere which is very different. You will be able to experience nice blue morning, mountain landscape with wide rice field and tobacco garden down the hill foot until to the beach with its unspoiled nature, tradition, culture and as an ideal seaport and vacation resort.

There are many other interesting things you can find and do in here, the most of amazing one is like seeing a wild dolphin shows in the middle of the sea, as well as marine parks with a variety of ornamental fish. Sometime these dolphins can be observed in the distance of 1 kilometer by standing from Lovina Beach. It is so beautiful, isn’t it?
Furthermore, in getting better view of dolphin, you should be there from 5 o’clock in the morning, because the come out for feeding from 6 o’clock until 8 o’clock in the morning only. Just slight information, see dolphins in the sea you can use a small boat with a capacity of four people. The tourists can hire a fishing boat of fishermen, and then you just pay around 50.000 Rupiah ($ 5). It the best one of Lovina’s most important attractions and you should definitely see and capture them. The boat will send you approximately one or two miles to the sea to where the dolphin would normally appear. During the trip, you can spread your view to a vast blue sea while the boat away from the mainland.

The fishermen is already know where the they have to drop you so close with the dolphin and suddenly you'll hear splashing alongside the boat as the first groups of dolphins appear. Now, see and enjoy the funny behavior and friendly dolphins live in the middle of the sea. Hundreds of dolphins will naturally do the attraction to show their activities. The visitors can also bring small fishes to feed the dolphin for getting closer to them. But somehow, it also depends on natural factors such as the tides of sea water, wind direction, and of courses your luck to see the wild dolphins.
If you cannot see the action these dolphins in the morning, you can spend the morning by joining swimming with dolphins at certain hotel. The visitor can play in the pool with the dolphin. They are so tame and be able to choose whether or not to interact with people.

Lovina Beach has calm sea water containing a variety of sea coral and tropical fishes. Except the beautiful seacoast, Lovina Beach extends itself to some of water activities. The visitors can also try for swimming, diving, snorkeling, fishing, or boating in traditional boat called ‘jukung’. It is still natural and very interesting to visit. Fishing at Lovina reef is more a relaxing than a spectacular event. Just use piece of bamboo you drop the fishing line in the water until you feel the fish catch your bait. Lovina reef is unluckily not regarded as an interesting dive site but good for snorkeling. It has some interesting newly formed corals.
